[London, 28 June] – Today, the National Environmental Services Survey unveils a startling statistic: just 11% of environmental services professionals in the UK believe that the Government will meet its goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. This concerning finding, among others, sheds light on the urgency for accelerated action and collaborative efforts to combat climate change. The survey’s results will take centre stage at the Environmental Services & Solutions Expo (ESS), the largest gathering of environmental professionals in the UK, to be held on September 13-14 at the NEC, Birmingham.

Among the survey’s key findings, the surprising statistic revealing the lack of confidence in the Government’s ability to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050 is a call to action. Environmental professionals, who possess critical knowledge and expertise, express concern regarding the ambitious goal set by the Government. This finding highlights the imperative for enhanced efforts and collaboration to address climate change and transition towards a sustainable future.

The National Environmental Services Survey also uncovered additional insights that underscore the challenges faced by the environmental sector. Funding limitations, rising costs, budgetary pressures, and the current economic situation emerged as prominent obstacles. These hurdles must be addressed to ensure the continuity of environmental initiatives and drive meaningful change.

The Environmental Services & Solutions Expo (ESS) provides an ideal platform to engage with the survey results, foster discussions, and ignite collaborative action. Environmental professionals, stakeholders, and like-minded individuals are invited to connect, share best practices, and collectively shape the future of environmental services. By leveraging the insights gained from the survey, participants at ESS can propel discussions, seek innovative solutions, and drive significant strides towards achieving a greener, sustainable future.

The National Environmental Services Survey and the Environmental Services & Solutions Expo aim to foster collaboration, advocacy, and transformative action.
