A Wide Range of Flare Systems

Organics offers a range of standard waste-gas flaring and utilisation technologies designed to meet environmental controls. At the top end, the Organics SMART flare technology offers high temperature, extended retention time combustion, combined with exhaust gas recycling to minimise NOx formation mechanisms. The SC and MC Classes of flare are a basic tool for the combustion of landfill gas and biogas in Europe, the United States and Australia/New Zealand.

They provide varying degrees of environmental control to meet the varying standards of the countries involved and the environmental objectives of the end-user. The AC Range provides a no-frills combustion tool for locations where stringent environmental controls do not apply or where relatively clean gases are to be disposed of safely.

 

AC Range Flares

Simple elevated flares with visible flames and minimal control over the combustion process:

  • operator control of flame height

SC Range Flares

Shrouded flame flares with no visible flame and automated control of combustion air allowing a combustion temperature of 1,000ºC and 0.5 seconds retention time:

  • emissions control

LCH Range Flares

Safe combustion of low calorific value gases.

Key Features

The LHC (Low Heat Content) Range flare is designed specifically to address the problem of combusting gases with low calorific values, or heat contents. The optimisation of combustion control techniques ensures that heat loss is minimised, whilst air and gas mixing is maintained at a very high level.

In normal landfill gas flares, for example, the usual minimum methane concentration at which a flare will burn is around 15 to 20% methane. Codes of practice, indeed, suggest that combustion should be halted when methane drops below 20% to avoid the possibility of an explosion. The LHC Range flare is designed specifically to burn below 20%. It has inbuilt explosion protection measures and can operate down to as little as 5% methane in air.

 

RB Range Flares

Shrouded ground flares which, as well as allowing high-temperature combustion, include exhaust gas recycle to minimise the formation of NOx:

  • automatic flame temperature control

  • turbulent diffusion flame
  • 1000oC to 1200oC
  • emission control
  • reduced height possible whilst maintaining emission control
  • reduced NOx emissions
