PRODEVAL OPENS ITS SUBSIDIARY IN SPAIN AND CONFIRMS ITS AMBITION TO DEPLOY ITS BIOMETHANE PRODUCTION SOLUTIONS

SPAIN’S AMBITION IS TO ACHIEVE CARBON NEUTRALITY BY 2050 BY DEVELOPING THE PRODUCTION OF RENEWABLE ENERGY, INCLUDING BIOMETHANE.

In 2020, Spain had 210 Biogas production plants and only 2 active Biomethane production plants. Today, the number of Biomethane production plants has risen to 6, of which 5 are injecting Biomethane into the gas grid, which represents only a small share of the production of renewable energy. However the market is growing thanks to the new Biogas development strategy, validated by the Council of Ministers in April 2022.

Spain is currently the 4th European country with the greatest potential for Biomethane production and could exceed 100 TWh of production per year.

PRODEVAL now has more than 350 Biomethane production plants in 10 countries and, with the opening of its subsidiary in Spain, confirms its ambition to develop itself locally in order to provide innovative solutions to reduce greenhouse gases and CO2 emissions in all territories.

With the prospect of a growing market, PRODEVAL chose to set up its subsidiary in Zaragoza in March, to be closer to its customers. Business development is entrusted to Nicolas BRUYAS, Business Developer since 2019 at PRODEVAL, on the territories of Spain, Portugal and South America. Currently, many projects are under development in Spain.
