BBIJU joins the EUBCE to strengthen the scope, relevance and appeal of the conference at its 30th edition

The public-private partnership BBIJU (Bio-based IndustriesJoint Undertaking) is teaming up with the European Biomass Conference & Exhibition (EUBCE) to strengthen the scope of its Industry Track sessions – moving from a primary focus on biomass and bioenergy to include a wide range of bio-based products that contribute to resource-efficient and sustainable, low-carbon economies in many more ways.

EUBCE is the world’s largest biomass conference and exhibition and features a Scientific Track programme coordinated by the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre. This year, the event will be complemented by BBIJU’s efficacy at identifying innovation, stimulating investment, and mobilising the bio-based industry sector. This is an excellent opportunity to address even more stakeholders globally through the conference.

BBI Statement

“This collaboration is an important step to amplify the impacts of the BBI JU initiative and build the future of the circular bio-based economy in Europe,” said BBI JU Executive Director Philippe Mengal. “By contributing to EUBCE and its Industry Track, the BBI JU confirms its role as the leading organisation in the bioeconomy landscape and its commitment to a truly sustainable society.”

As ETA-Florence Renewable Energies Director and EUBCE organizer, Angela Grassi puts it: “The scientific rigor of EUBCE has always been with a purpose – with the aim of exchanging ideas to catalyse new ones – of convening both public and private stakeholders, together with academics, to move from dialogue to action. As such, we are immensely pleased to have BBIJU – a notable instigator for bio-based innovation – joining the EUBCE organizing committee and adding to the scope and depth of its Industry Track.”

The 30th edition of EUBCE has been scheduled for 9-12 May 2022. Thousands of delegates, including academics, policymakers, and industry stakeholders will connect for 4 days to share and discuss ground-breaking ideas, technologies, applications, and solutions for the sourcing, production, and utility of biomass.
