Tailor-made biogas training webinars

By | 2016-10-06

BiogasWorld and the SAE des Moulins now offer two new tailor-made biogas training webinars for actual or potential biogas projects developers and a new training for managers and operators of heavy vehicle fleets interested in learning more about the benefits and challenges of a conversion to natural gas as fuel.

These training webinars are part of the general government objective of reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, reducing dependence on fossil fuels and optimizing organic waste management. In Quebec, this change is imposed in the context of, among others, the new Quebec policy on waste management which aims to ban landfilling of organic matter by 2022.

In the United States, it is stringent targets to reduce GHGs and RIN credits that encourage cities and industries to change their practices in terms of waste management and transportation. As such, the governor of California signed a new law in last September aimed at reducing methane emissions by 40% by 2030 in comparison to 2013 level.

Elsewhere, as in Poland, GHG reduction targets will be met by a new renewable electricity market of 2600 MW to be established by 2025 and which construction will begin in the first quarter of 2017 with the opening of the new electricity buyback program.

Like any great change requires planning, preparation and organization, BiogasWorld and the SAE des Moulins now offer the following trainings to accompany and support the participants in their adaptation and transition to a healthier environment.

  • Offer advice on the operation and maintenance of a plant

Conversion to NGV transportation for your fleet: the benefits and costs | Ask us for the date

  • Cost assessment for the conversion of your fleet
  • Difference between compressed natural gas (CNG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG)
  • Aspects to consider when converting to natural gas (Garage modifications, filing operation and more)
  • Environmental and economic benefits of conversion

Design, construction, and operation of a biogas plant | Ask us for the date

  • Mass and energy balances of a biogas plant
  • Process design based on feedstocks
  • Process monitoring
  • Assessment and risks mitigation during the operation
  • Valuation of outputs

Each training is offered for a single price of $300 plus taxes and trainings are delivered online as a webinar. They are aimed primarily at policymakers, project engineers, project developers and transportation fleet managers.
