|Description||This Request for Proposal (“RFP”) is an invitation to prospective Proponents to submit Proposals for a gas adsorption analyzer, to perform measurements on porous materials suitable not only for post-combustion CO2 capture, but also pre-combustion CO2 capture and hydrogen generation, which are expected to be key technologies for future clean power generation and storage. This equipment will provide measurement capabilities that will enable researchers to make advances in clean energy sectors. The instrument will be installed in a research environment at the University of Ottawa.
A Gas Adsorption-Desorption Analyzer is capable of measuring the solvent content and gas capture potential of low-dimensional systems at the synthesis stage. In particular, the intention for this instrument is to measure porous materials such as metal organic frameworks, covalent organic frameworks and zeolitic frameworks. In addition to room temperature measurement, the instrument must also allow for low temperature porosity measurements and ad- or absorption capabilities along with surface area determination. The system must be compatible with a variety of gases such as CO2, N2, CH4, H2.
